Dear BAMBI Members,Following the Annual General Meeting where Tini stepped down as Chairwoman, BAMBI is currently without a Chair! So we are reporting to you until someone steps up to the plate.Tini has been a strong Chairwoman for BAMBI and led the organization to new frontiers during the course of her tenure. Thank you, Tini, for your tireless work and commitment to BAMBI and all the best in your new adventures!We are happy to welcome new volunteers to the committee: Nimphiya has already started as Media Coordinator and will be working on BAMBI’s media presence. Bao Minh follows in Alex’s footsteps, moving up from British Club PG Leader to Playgroups Coordinator.Please see the BAMBI Needs You page to check what other volunteers BAMBI is currently in need of. We will have another Volunteering Info Session on May 26th at Antique Cafe, where anyone interested is welcome to come and learn more about volunteering with BAMBI, meet some committee members, and ask questions. The needs are constantly changing, so even if you don’t see a ‘wanted’ post, do feel free to get in touch - until we have a new chairwoman, you can contact Emma at bumps@bambiweb.org.As for what’s up with BAMBI in May...we have another fun pop-up playgroup taking place at Shrewsbury School on May 20th. Since end-April, Bumps New World playgroup is running twice a week with the help of its members, and a new BAMBI Playgroup at Ekamai Soi 6 at Bright Skies International has started up to good acclaim. And WOMBLES is resuming on May 30th at Beirut Restaurant on Soi 39, after a little break in April with some fun ukulele playing.BAMBI will be hosting a charity event and special book sale with Always Reading Caravan (featured in March 2017 BAMBI News) on May 16th. All donations plus 10% of book sales proceeds will be donated to Always Reading Caravan. And on June 3rd, BAMBI will have its first Mama and Baby Swap Meet—come and ‘swap’ your no-longer-needed baby/maternity items with others! All proceeds will be distributed to charities working in the Khlong Toey slums.So you can see we’re back in full swing!
