Dear BAMBI families,
This month’s theme connects deeply with my own life and values. Living in a comfortable and busy city like Bangkok, it takes a lot of care and purpose to raise kind, down-to-earth children. In our modern, convenient world, we truly need to show our kids how important it is to support others.
For me, the lesson of generosity comes directly from my father.
He is my greatest role model because he always taught me by doing, not just by telling. When my sisters and I were young, he took us to help build a school on a mountain far away from the city. We went there with his best friends, who became just like family to us. Over the years, we went to many schools and many villages. It became a beautiful routine for us to go back and support families in need.
My father also shared stories from his work travels that I will always hold close to my heart. Once, he saw a very poor couple sitting at a hospital food court, carefully counting their coins. It was clear they did not have enough money to buy a meal. Without a second thought, my father stepped in and treated them to lunch. Witnessing so many of these quiet, loving moments with my own eyes shaped who I am today. Because of him, helping others became a part of my soul.
Now, I am passing this legacy on to my five-year-old son. I am incredibly grateful to see a giving personality already growing inside him. To share what I love, I often bring him along with me to volunteer for our BAMBI community. I also see him helping others around him. He never hesitates to help, just like his grandfather.
Our children learn by watching our examples. Let's show them that true happiness comes from giving, not just getting, and build kind and caring hearts in our everyday lives.
I want to say a special thank you to my amazing volunteer team and their children. You are all doing a great job, always thinking of others and giving your time so beautifully. Thank you also to everyone in our community for your support. I hope we all find our own unique ways to lead by example, so our children grow up to be generous, thoughtful, and the very best human beings they can be.
